Bart’s Process

Already as a little kid, I’ve had big dreams for idealistic societal redesign. And I took them serious with many unrealistic project plans.

Contributing to organizing festivals was the first way in which I could express this passion. I learned about every corner of the event industry and was an event organizer myself.

My ambitions also let me to personally transform as a human being. Both as spiritual being and with conscious lifestyle.

At Uon Earth, a capital intensive, ambitious start-up of which I have been a part from the beginning, I learned more about the risks and possibilities of starting such a project.

Related to this process I also started to embrace and share a proposal for the flag of humanity, a tangible way to represent my ideals.

Available solutions in blockchain technology made me realize that the resources are there to co-create new ways to exchange value, make decisions and interact with each other. I learned about the world of blockchain and how this can be used to design entirely new civilizations, mainly through SEEDS, which stands for Sowing Ecological Equitable Decentralized Societies.

With Semo already designed, but without feeling ready to build and scale it, I started Hemptex to learn more about setting up an organisation, successfully deploying an innovation that many people before me failed to succeed at, and developing a regenerative supply chain.

For Humanity

While Semo will function by as many self-governing protocols as possible, it is still initially launched and guided by a formal entity which is registered in The Netherlands as Stichting For Humanity (founding in progress), a non-profit/foundation.

The board members of For Humanity are Maarten Kuiper, Niek van der Kuijl and Bart Elbertse.

Semo was launched by a different legal entity while the setup of Stichting For Humanity is in progress:

Name: IFFHAAN B.V.
Country of registration: The Netherlands
Registration number: 81229674

Bart Elbertse is the only shareholder.

Besides all this; I love the outdoors. Sailing, surfing, snowboarding, hiking and whatever is there to try.
