Governance

Governance

Semo is governed by For Humanity. For Humanity promises to:

  • operate with full transparency and democratic protocols about who receives which money that For Humanity has been related to.
  • develop decentralised governance for Semo with the goal that For Humanity makes itself irrelevant.
  • build Semo in line with the strategy to recreate our economy by offering a more fulfilling economy to those who need this the most.
  • drop all rights to make changes to the Semo ecosystem as soon as the other promises are fulfilled.

Empowering Semo Stakeholders

For Humanity and any other organisation that may get rights to make changes to the Semo ecosystem can be outvoted by the stakeholders of Semo. A replacement protocol will be designed to support the democratic process to select and elect a new developer.

Voting out an organisation gets easier over time to support

  • that poorly functioning organisations can continue to be curators of Semo for a long period of time.
  • organisations to work towards a fully decentralised ecosystem.
  • dynamics on who controls what.

This means the quorum and consensus rate of the outvoting protocol go down over time. Such a voting process will be in place before the development of the Semo Economics core phase starts. The voting system is also designed so, when the time is there, the last governor can be outvoted without replacement being needed. By this time, Semo is fully decentralised with full adaptability to evolve.
