What is a Semo Loan?
Semo Loans provide interest-free capital to help you kickstart or expand your project. In return, we ask that loan recipients actively track their impact through Semo Scores and accept Semo Currency as payment for goods and services. This commitment ensures that every project we support contributes to building a regenerative economy.

We’re looking for projects that are:

- Ready to support the Semo ecosystem by accepting Semo Currency

Conditions
Any organisation can apply for a Semo Loan. Start-ups are eligible for a loan of 500 Semo or 50% of their yearly income, whichever is greater. To participate, your organisation must ensure it maintains a Semo Score across all scoring categories to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to transparency and impact.
Loan Repayment
A Semo Loan must be fully paid back before a new application can be submitted. After 5 years, a 5% interest rate is put in place in case the Semo loan is not paid back.
Eligibility Criteria
Currently, applications are evaluated internally by Semo stakeholders, based on how socially and environmentally regenerative your organisation or project is. Innovation is a key pillar in our assessment, favouring projects that bring unique solutions to real-world challenges.
