Next to the exchange of goods; decision making is the other primary, more communication-centred type of exchange. Democracy is the concept in which all participants of a civilization are involved in the decision making process.

Democracy is a word that is used in a lot of situations. Even the countries that are considered the most democratic nowadays are full of legalised bribery and have very few options for participation in decision making for the majority of the inhabitants. In reality, even the tiny opportunity for participation people get often comes in the form of votes gained as a result of campaigns paid for by powerful people and organisations. Other organisations and institutions are often no better, except for the few exceptions we like to bring to the forefront.
The Semo Democracy building block is set up to be a very direct democracy, in which all participants have a say about everything. A complex set-up is needed to design this in a way in which best outcomes are aimed for in an efficient and accessible manner.
Semo Democracy brings the Semo Economy decision making fully to its users. Besides, Semo Democracy will be an open source example for other organisation- and civilisation structures to innovate the way they are governed.
